Hair Extensions Home Care

CONGRATULATIONS! You’ve invested in yourself and your hair with a set of custom hand tied hair extensions. Follow these instructions to get the longest life out of your extensions, and to keep your experience optimal.

Washing.

• Be sure to brush your hair and extension hair thoroughly BEFORE you shower to prevent excessive tangles and matting

• Use a sulfate free shampoo + conditioner off of the recommended product list below to prolong the life of your hair color and the extension hair

• Section off the top row(s) and start by washing the bottom row first and work your way up by dropping each row down.

• Don’t hesitate to wash a second time if you’ve gone a while since your last wash to make sure all build up is cleansed away.

• Distribute conditioner and use a WetBrush to comb the conditioner through the ends of the hair

• RINSE RINSE RINSE thoroughly and do not leave any product behind.

Brushing, Blow Drying + Styling

• A WetBrush is your best friend! Start brushing from the ends of your hair and work your way up. be sure to secure the base of your rows so that you can alleviate excess tension. This will keep your scalp healthy!

• Detangle all the way to the top of the wefts, but don’t over brush at the base of the extensions.

• Sectioning off your rows, starting at the base of your natural hair, is the easiest way to make sure all tangles have been removed. Drop each row of extensions, and each row of your natural hair down until you reach the top.

• Prior to blow drying, apply a leave in and heat protectant. A little bit goes a long way!

• Rough dry your hair 80% of the way. Once the hair is MOSTLY dry, you can use a round brush with a little bit of tensions to complete your blow dry.

• For a faster blow-dry, section your rows and rough dry one by one.

Sleeping

• Brush your hair thoroughly and make sure your hair is COMPLETELY dry.

• 1 or 2 loose braids secured with a scrunch will secure your hair and prevent friction. A low pony is another option.

• Sleep with a silk pillow case.
